The History Behind the Platformer™
Platformer Solutions Ltd. is a manufacturing company providing a safe platform solution to the construction industry, launching its first product, the ‘Platformer™’ in 2017. The Platformer™ is a sturdy, reliable piece of equipment that anchors securely to the studs in a wall, allowing tradesmen to attach a plank or platform. This eliminates or reduces the need for expensive and time-consuming scaffolding and creates a secure and safe working environment that is free of obstruction.
The Platformer™ is an invention of one of the company’s co-owners, Shane Larson, who is a 3rd generation taper. Through his 24 years of experience in the home construction industry, Shane often found himself, and other tradesmen using inadequate makeshift structures to work in hard-to-reach situations, or to save time and money. This is common practice in the construction industry today and results in unnecessary and costly accidents and injuries. With a strong safety-first mentality, Shane and his team designed and engineered the Platformer™ to be a safe, secure, and time-efficient solution to resolve this issue.
Built and tested in the field, Platformer™ was designed with real-time input from construction industry professionals, providing valued feedback to improve the design. The feedback has been very positive, with many professionals and safety supervisors seeing the immediate value in time-savings, cost-effectiveness and safety.
Engineering testing of the final design has been completed, to ensure the product’s viability and safety standards are appropriately defined and met.
